Dr. B G Muralidhara

Graduated from Gulbarga Medical College with III rank in the university, Dr. B G. Muralidhara completed his postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine from BMC and postdoctoral course DM in Cardiology from KMC, Manipal in 1992. His career started as an Asst. Professor of Cardiology in NIMS, Hyderabad.

Fellow of Interventional Cardiology from Melbourne University, Dr. B.G. Muralidhara was attached to St. Vincent’s Hospital- Melbourne as a Consultant Cardiologist. At present he is working as a Chairman and Chief of Cardiology at Trinity Hospital and Heart Foundation which was founded by him in 2000.

He is not only trained in cardiac interventions but also in whole body interventions like Carotid Stenting, Renal Stenting, Peripheral Stenting and Embolisation Procedures. He has pioneered many new techniques in the field of interventional cardiology to reduce the cost and make the procedures affordable and acceptable to patients. He has safely and successfully treated many rare diseases affecting small children to very elderly population. His special areas of interest are Emergency Acute Myocardial Infarction.

With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Muralidhara has performed over 20,000 Angiograms and 5,000 Angioplasties. He also takes special interest in public education programs and health checkup camps. As of today, he has conducted nearly 300 free health checkup camps in Bangalore and also other rural parts of Karnataka which have benefitted more than 50,000 patients by getting treatment without any cost. A strong communicator, Dr. Muralidhara has delivered many guest lectures on various Cardiology topics at medical colleges and IMA conferences. He has conducted about 200 CME programmes for the benefit of medical practitioners.

Dr. Muralidhara has delivered many health awareness lectures on AIR (All India Radio), Doordarshan, Udaya TV, ETV and many other local cable networks. In recognition of his services to the community, he has been honoured by many social organizations, like LIONS Club, Rotary Club, JACS etc. Recently, Karnataka Maratha Mahasabha has conferred prestigious 'Shivaji Award' for meritorious services in the field of medicine.
